One- of- a kind artwork

Textile surface constructed through weaving techniques

64 x 64 cm (framed)

“Rhythm I” exists at a point where the line ceases to function as a ‘boundary’ and transforms into ‘rhythm.’ What begins as the intention carried by a singular line multiplies into a system; each vertical trace starts as an individual decision, yet gradually becomes anonymous within the whole. It is precisely through this anonymity that the philosophical tension of the line emerges: the relationship between the individual mark and the collective structure.

At first glance, the surface appears governed by an almost mechanical repetition. Yet upon closer observation, subtle deviations, fractures, and shifts in density begin to appear. This reveals that the line is never entirely controlled; rather, it oscillates between control and chance. In other words, the line here does not merely generate form — it carries the trace of the act itself.

In this work, the line behaves like a ‘stitch’: not only shaping the surface, but also holding it together. Yet the paradox lies here: although these stitch-like lines appear to unite something, they simultaneously divide the surface continuously. Union and separation occur at the same time.
